Helen Mirren and her husband, director Taylor Hackford, attend the 24th Annual USC Libraries Scripter Award ceremony on Saturday (February 18) at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The 66-year-old actress and Taylor, who were the dinner co-chairs, helped honor screenwriters Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, and Jim Rash for their work on The Descendants. The Scripters recognize this year’s best cinematic adaptation of the written word. It’s the only award of its kind that honors screenwriters in addition to the author of the work upon which the adaptation is based. The Descendants is up for Best Picture at next Sunday’s Oscars!
