Hotel Transylvania Checks In With $43 Million

The animated family friendly flick Hotel Transylvania dominated this weekend’s box office – it had the biggest opening since The Dark Knight Rises and the top September bow ever. The film, featuring the voices of Selena Gomez and Adam Sandler took in a whopping $43 million. Looper, the flick starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon Levitt, followed behind with a cool $21.2 million opening. Jake Gyllenhaal and America Ferrera‘s End of Watch came in third with $8 million dollars. Amy Adams‘ Trouble with the Curve brought in another $7,530,000 million to take fourth place. Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson‘s Pitch Perfect, a flick about dueling a cappella groups, hit a high note this weekend. Even though it only premiered in 335 theaters in 125 cities, it still pulled in a healthy $5.2 million. Can’t wait till it opens wide next weekend!
