Topher Grace Edits 'Star Wars' Trilogy into 85-Minute Movie

Topher Grace stepped behind the camera for one of his latest projects – and created an 85-minute movie by cutting the three Star Wars prequels! “It took about nine months to do,” the 33-year-old actor, who’s a fan of the original versions, told JustJared.com at a one-time only screening held at Soho House. “But I was learning and experimenting how to edit at the same time,” he added. “Hopefully this will segue into a series of some sort.” It’s a fast, fun, well-constructed take with the love story as the central driving force … and it works great! A trailer for a re-cut version of Close Encounters played before the Star Wars recut. “There’s all these versions of Encounters but no one’s made the ultimate cut,” Topher told us. Spotted in the crowd were Seth Green and director Kyle Newman (Jaime King‘s husband), who came out to support the project. Earlier in the day, Kristen Bell got a little playtime with Natalie Portman‘s 9-month-old son, Aleph, who cooed happily in his carrier while they waited at Soho’s valet stand. “Kristen looked so adorable playing with Aleph,” a spywitness tells us, adding that Nat‘s rumored husband, Benjamin Millepied, was also there. “She will be such a great mom someday!”
